Steps

Graham Cracker Cake with Home Made Whipped Cream

  1. Prepare your kitchen and yourself by gathering your equipment.Having a prepared kitchen also means having a prepared chef.
    • Take a few minutes to wash your hands.
    • Make sure that you have all your equipment and ingredients and that your work space is clean.
    • If any of the equipment or your work space are not clean before you start, take another minute to properly wash and dry them.
  2. Gather your ingredients. All of the ingredients needed to make this cake are quite common, and you’ll likely have most of them in the kitchen already. If you don’t already have what’s listed below, just make a quick trip to your local grocery store and you’ll surely find them there.
  3. Pour your pudding mix into one of your mixing bowls and begin to make the pudding by following the instructions provided on the package.Once you’ve finished making the pudding, slowly stir through it while checking for powder clumps
    • After you’ve finished checking for the clumps, set your pudding aside in the fridge for later
  4. Whip the cream.Pour all of your whipping cream into the medium sized bowl. Add in a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 4 tablespoons (59.1 ml) of sugar, honey, or maple syrup. Beat the cream with a whisk at high speed.
    • After about a minute of whisking at a high speed, the whipping cream should have the consistency of regular whipped cream. Instead of being liquid, the cream should now be smooth, thicker, and fluffy.
  5. Take the pudding out of the fridge and poor it into the mixing bowl with the whipped cream.Mix them together with a plastic spatula.
    • If you're using vanilla pudding, you will be able to tell if they are evenly mixed once the mixture has an eggshell-white/yellow color.
    • If you’re using chocolate pudding, you will be able to tell when the mixture is evenly mixed once it has a very light chocolate brown color that can be compared to chocolate soft serve ice cream.
  6. Open the box of graham crackers and lay them in the 9x13 glass pan.Keep doing this until the entire bottom the pan is completely covered with crackers.
    • Take the mixture of pudding and whipped cream and spread a thin layer across the top of the crackers until they are completely covered.
    • Cover the layer of cream mix with another layer of graham crackers and repeat the same process until the pan is completely filled. The topmost layer should be a thin layer of the whipped cream and pudding mixture.
  7. Dress the top of the cake with your favorite topping.Creativity is almost endless in this case. Some toppings include cookie crumbs, pieces of chocolate, strawberry or cherry sauce, brownie bits, etc. This part of the cake is really up to you.
  8. Store the cake.Cover the cake with some Saran wrap or plastic wrap. Store the cake in the fridge and let it chill overnight.
    • Covering the cake keeps the toppings on the cake from going stale.
    • As the cake rests in the fridge overnight, the whipped cream pudding mixture will soak into the graham crackers, making them moist and soft like a cake.
  9. Take the cake out of the fridge and proceed to blow your friends mind with this ridiculously easy and delicious recipe. After trying this cake, you and your friends will never be able to have enough of it! It works as a dessert for any occasion and is almost guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face.
